Personal VPN connects but web sites are not unblocked
This can occur if you do not run the application as administrator in Windows. In this situation, your IP address will also not change. You can check your IP address by going to this site.
If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7, be sure to set the application to 'Run as Administrator' as shown on the VPN setup page.
An alternate method is to exit the GUI from the task bar by right-clicking on the icon and selecting 'Exit'. Next, right-click on the 'OpenVPN-GUI' icon located either on your desktop or in the Start menu. Select 'Run as Administrator'.
Personal VPN connects but some web sites are not working
Please send us a log of the connection as shown on the support page. This is usually due to DNS issues in some countries. Once we determine that this is the case, we will show you how to correct the issue.
Personal VPN connects but resets frequently and/or web pages will not load quickly
Windows - Right click on the connection in the GUI and select Edit Config. Add mssfix 1300 to the configuration file on a blank line and save. Exit and restart the application. Log in and test to see if the issue is resolved.
Mac - Click on Details in Tunnelblick. Edit the configuration. Add mssfix 1300 to the configuration file on a blank line. Save and exit. Restart Tunnelblick. Log in and test to see if the issue is resolved.
Personal VPN will not connect
Please try both the personalvpn and personalvpn-tcp connections.
Send us an email describing your operating system and what kind of network you are on. For example, home DSL, home cable modem, business, school, public hotspot, etc. Include a log of each connection as shown on the bottom of the support page.
